Industry News: Single-Family Housing Starts Rise in December

According to the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), we are seeing a steady and productive increase in the number of single-family homes being built nationally. In December, production rose 4.4 percent, according to newly released figures from the U.S. Commerce Department. (Click here for full article.)
The combined annual housing production for single- and multi-family homes was pegged at 606,900 units – 3.4 percent better than the overall number of starts in 2010. Not too shabby! While the multi-family side continues a difficult climb, “slow and steady” is a perfect and fitting industry mantra.
